Summary

ConvertThoseFiles is a browser-first file conversion tool. Every conversion (PDF, image, OCR, ZIP, and similar) runs entirely inside your browser. Your files are never uploaded to our servers.

What we process in your browser

PDF utilities (merge, split, compress, rotate, reorder, extract, text extraction, PDF↔JPG), image conversions (JPG/PNG/WEBP, compress, resize), OCR (image and PDF), and ZIP extraction all execute locally. Files are read into memory by the browser and never transmitted off your device.

What we process on our servers

Nothing. No file conversions are performed on our servers, and your files are never sent to any server or third-party service. Every tool runs locally in your browser, so your files stay on your device from start to finish.

Account data

If you create an account, we store your email address, hashed credentials (via our auth provider), and aggregate usage counts to enforce free-tier limits. We do not sell or share this data.

Analytics

We collect anonymous usage events (which tool was used, success/failure counts) to improve the product. No file contents are ever included.

Cookies & local storage

We use localStorage for session, theme, and an anonymous device ID used to enforce free-tier limits. We do not use third-party tracking cookies.

Your rights

You may delete your account at any time from the Account page. To request a copy or deletion of your data, email support@convertthosefiles.com.
